My Story…

I started playing music at age eight, which became solace and inspiration in an otherwise broken-up childhood.
In high school, I discovered diaphragmatic breathing as a means to help with allergies and asthma.
Left high school at 16 to study at a music conservatory, where I also started to learn about ethnomusicology, global rhythms, and cultural drumming.
I met my soon-to-be wife of 44 years, Donna, at age 19.
I became vegetarian and then vegan plant-based since I was 19.
In Marin County, we moved from NY to Cali, where we founded Modern Rites/Ancient Waves, a gallery dedicated to indigenous and visionary art and music.
They began to do what are now called ‘sound baths’ in the ’80s and continue to do so.
At that time, I started to have profound dreams about blue healing light coming out of my hands, Aboriginal Dreamtime events, and storytelling. I learned to play yidaki (didjeridu) in these dreams, which was profound and life-changing.
Became a Buddhist practitioner focusing on Medicine Buddha, luminescent blue light, and deity. Medicine Buddha is considered to be a supreme healing deity.
Continue as a student of all these teachings, and share these sacred mantras and musical sounds to benefit all beings.

Collaborated with and had compositions used by transpersonal awareness teachers, dancers, musicians, and artists globally- Anna Halprin, Margot Anand, Gabrielle Roth, Suru Ekeh, Burrigan Jerome, and others.
Studies in Buddhist sutras, received empowerments and transmission on Prajñāpāramitā (Heart Sutra), Medicine Buddha, Tara(s), Vajrayogini, Chakrasamvara, Body Mandala, Sarasvatī, Avalokiteśvara.
